What ages is Woodland Play suitable for?+
Woodland Play is designed for children aged 1 to 6 years.
How much does it cost?+
Play Group and Private Woodland Play are both $50 per child, including a gentle pony ride. Adults attend free.
How long does each experience run?+
Both Play Group and Private Woodland Play sessions run for 2 hours.
Can I book just one child?+
Yes. Individual families can book one or two children into a Play Group. Private bookings require a minimum of six children.
When are sessions available?+
Play Group sessions run on Wednesdays and Fridays at 10am. Private Woodland Play sessions are available daily, subject to availability.
Can we bring food and drinks?+
Yes. You are welcome to bring snacks, refreshments or a picnic. There are plenty of tables and an undercover parents’ lounge.
Do parents stay?+
Yes. Parents and caregivers remain onsite throughout the experience. There is no charge for attending adults.
Is the play area fenced?+
Yes. The Woodland Play area is safely fenced.
Is Little Oaks suitable for toddlers and preschoolers?+
Yes. Our nature play experiences are created especially for children aged 1 to 6, with plenty of time for toddlers and preschoolers to explore at their own pace.
Is this a drop-off playgroup?+
No. A parent or caregiver stays onsite throughout the session. Adults attend free and can relax nearby while children play.
What animals will children meet?+
Children can enjoy supervised bunny play, feed our resident geese and meet our friendly ponies. A gentle pony ride is included in each child booking.
What is the difference between Play Group and Private Woodland Play?+
Play Group welcomes individual family bookings into a small group on Wednesdays and Fridays. Private Woodland Play gives a group of at least six children exclusive use of the woodland play space on an available day.
Is Little Oaks close to the Gold Coast and Tweed Heads?+
Little Oaks is in Chinderah on the Tweed Coast, welcoming families from Tweed Heads, Kingscliff, the southern Gold Coast and surrounding areas.

Can I book a birthday?+
Yes. Contact us to plan a fairy, unicorn or woodland-inspired celebration, and to discuss packages, styling, group size and optional extras.

What should my child wear to Woodland Play?+
Little Oaks is all about outdoor play, so we recommend comfortable clothes that can handle a little dirt and closed-in shoes. Depending on the weather, a hat, sunscreen and a change of clothes can also be handy. Muddy little knees are very welcome here!
What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?+
Woodland Play is an outdoor experience, so sessions are weather dependent. If the weather means we cannot safely or comfortably run your session, we will contact you with an update and information about rescheduling.
Are pony rides included in Woodland Play?+
Yes! A pony ride is included as part of the Little Oaks Woodland Play experience, along with bunny play, geese feeding, mud kitchens, dress-ups and plenty of time to explore the woodland.
Does my child need any experience with ponies or animals?+
Not at all. Little Oaks is designed with young children in mind, and no previous experience with ponies or farm animals is needed. Children can take things at their own pace and are never expected to participate in an activity they are not comfortable with.
Can mothers’ groups book Little Oaks privately?+
Absolutely. Private Woodland Play is perfect for mothers’ groups, groups of friends and families who would like to enjoy the Little Oaks experience together. Gather your own little crew and the woodland is yours to enjoy for the session.
Can I organise a private playgroup with friends?+
Yes! If you already have a group of friends you would like to come with, you can book a Private Woodland Play experience rather than joining one of our regular Play Groups. Private bookings require a minimum of six children.
Is there somewhere for parents to sit and relax?+
Yes. We have an undercover seating area with lounges and tables where parents can sit, chat and enjoy the morning while staying close to their little ones as they explore the fenced woodland play space.
What makes Little Oaks different from a regular playgroup?+
Little Oaks is a little less ‘play centre’ and a little more childhood adventure. Our sessions combine nature play, animals and imaginative outdoor play in a beautiful woodland setting. Children can make mud pies, dress up, cuddle bunnies, feed the geese, ride a pony and explore at their own pace, with plenty of fresh air and space to simply be little.
