Little Oaks Woodland Playgroups offer young children a gentler kind of activity. Instead of rushing between structured stations, children have two beautiful hours to follow their curiosity, play beside other little ones and connect with the natural world.
Our Chinderah farm is a welcoming destination for families looking for toddler activities, outdoor playgroups and animal experiences around Tweed Heads, the Tweed Coast and the southern Gold Coast.

Little Oaks Woodland Playgroups are designed for children aged 1 to 6, including toddlers and preschoolers.
When do the playgroups run?+
Sessions run on Wednesdays and Fridays at 10am, subject to availability.
How long is a session?+
Each Woodland Playgroup session runs for 2 hours.
What is included in the $50 price?+
Each child booking includes woodland nature play, mud kitchens, dress-ups, bunny play, geese feeding and a gentle pony ride. Attending adults are free.
Can I book for one child?+
Yes. Individual families can book one or two children into an open Play Group. You do not need to organise a group.
How many children attend?+
Play Groups are intentionally small, with around 6 to 8 children, so the experience stays calm and personal.
Do parents stay during the playgroup?+
Yes. A parent or caregiver stays onsite. There are tables, seating and an undercover parents’ lounge nearby.
Is the woodland play area fenced?+
Yes. The Woodland Play area is safely fenced.
Can we bring snacks?+
Yes. Families are welcome to bring snacks, drinks or a picnic to enjoy during their visit.
Where is Little Oaks Ponies?+
Little Oaks is in Chinderah, NSW, on the Tweed Coast. We welcome families from Tweed Heads, Kingscliff, the southern Gold Coast and surrounding areas. Full arrival details are provided after booking.
What should my child wear to Woodland Play?+
We recommend comfortable clothes that can handle a little dirt and closed-in shoes. Depending on the weather, a hat, sunscreen and a change of clothes can also be handy. Muddy little knees are very welcome here!
What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?+
Woodland Play is an outdoor experience, so sessions are weather dependent. If the weather means we cannot safely or comfortably run your session, we will contact you with an update and information about rescheduling.
Are pony rides included in Woodland Play?+
Yes! A gentle pony ride is included, along with bunny play, geese feeding, mud kitchens, dress-ups and plenty of time to explore the woodland.
Does my child need any experience with ponies or animals?+
Not at all. No previous experience with ponies or farm animals is needed. Children can take things at their own pace and are never expected to participate in an activity they are not comfortable with.
Is there somewhere for parents to sit and relax?+
Yes. We have an undercover seating area with lounges and tables where parents can sit, chat and enjoy the morning while staying close to their little ones as they explore the fenced woodland play space.
What makes Little Oaks different from a regular playgroup?+
Little Oaks is a little less ‘play centre’ and a little more childhood adventure. Sessions combine nature play, animals and imaginative outdoor play in a beautiful woodland setting, with plenty of fresh air and space to simply be little.
